Automatic fertilising for environmentally-friendly agriculture

The parliamentary leader of the Green Party in the Baden-Wuerttemberg State Parliament, Andreas Schwarz, and Member of Parliament Bea Böhlen paid a visit to the Rauch Landmaschinenfabrik site in Rheinmünster.

Bea Böhlen, a member of the Baden-Wuerttemberg State Parliament, and Andreas Schwarz, leader of the Green Party in the Baden-Wuerttemberg State Parliament, visited the Rauch Landmaschinenfabrik manufacturing plant in Rheinmünster. According to the company motto: “The future comes naturally – but we have to make the progress”, the Managing Directors of Rauch, Hermann and Martin Rauch and Wilfried Müller, introduced their company to both representatives.

The company, which is now being run by the fifth generation of the Rauch family and whose headquarters are located in Sinzheim, has its production and assembly site in the Baden-Airpark in Rheinmünster. Around 70% of the machines manufactured are exported overseas. The company is currently training 27 young people in various occupational fields. Managing Director Hermann Rauch summarised the challenges posed by modern agriculture in a nutshell: “We aim to facilitate precise and therefore environmentally conscious agricultural work with our products.”

The work of the Development department impressed Andreas Schwarz and Bea Böhlen. “An idealised image of agriculture, like that which can be found in children's books and Heimatfilms which were made during the post-World War II period, do not reflect the reality of working in the agricultural industry. Innovative products and developments, like autonomous fertilising, significantly contribute to reducing the workload on agricultural holdings”, said Schwarz.

“We know how important it is,” added Bea Böhlen, “that the results of the developments and innovations support the farmers in their daily work, and that is also important to ensure that these developments and innovations work just as well on rough terrains, as well as on steep slopes and in high environments. Here, Rauch has embarked on a promising path.”
