HillControl – Precise fertiliser distribution even on extremely steep slopes, hilltops and hollows

Uniform fertilisation despite changing terrain: With HillControl, RAUCH optimises fertiliser distribution from AXIS fertiliser spreaders on extreme slopes, hilltops and hollows. The intelligent control system ensures consistently precise lateral distribution – even when the machine's inclination is constantly changing.

The solution for precise fertiliser spreading on steep slopes and varying topography

When spreading fertiliser on slopes, hilltops or in hollows, the position of the spreader relative to the ground is constantly changing. This results in uneven lateral distribution of the fertiliser, which can lead to over- or under-fertilisation and inefficient use of resources.

HillControl was developed specifically for these practical conditions. The control system continuously detects the slope gradient and automatically adjusts the machine settings to ensure even fertiliser application even in challenging terrain.

How HillControl works

Automatic control of machine settings in real time

HillControl is based on intelligent algorithms that calculate the spreading parameters of each spreading disc depending on several influencing factors. These include the flight characteristics of the fertiliser, the working width and the current slope of the machine.

An integrated inclination sensor continuously records the position and position change of the spreading discs and transmits this data to the job computer via the CAN bus. On this basis, the system automatically adjusts the machine settings via the feed point adjustment.

The result is consistently precise lateral distribution – regardless of terrain and changes in inclination.

Precise lateral distribution with varying field topography

Uniform fertilisation on transverse slopes, longitudinal slopes, hilltops and hollows

Conventional spreading systems often do not take sufficient account of the influences of field topology and elevation profiles. However, when driving through depressions or over crests, the distribution characteristics of the fertiliser change considerably.

HillControl compensates for these effects for the first time in a targeted manner and enables precise fertiliser distribution both across and along the slope, as well as on complex terrain. This ensures an even supply of nutrients to the plants and significantly reduces spreading errors.

Automatic adjustment without additional operating effort

Intelligent integration into the AXIS fertiliser spreader

The automatic control system uses the existing SpeedServo actuators for dosing quantity and application point, which are already integrated in the AXIS twin-disc spreaders.

Thanks to its complete integration into the machine control system, HillControl operates fully automatically in the background. The driver does not need to make any manual adjustments and can concentrate fully on the field work.

Your advantages in practice

Greater efficiency and precision when spreading fertiliser on the land

HillControl offers decisive advantages for agricultural businesses in regions with slopes and varying topography:

  • Uniform lateral distribution even on slopes
  • Fully automatic spread pattern optimisation on steep and side slopes
  • Precise fertiliser application on hilltops and in hollows
  • Reduction of over- and under-fertilisation
  • Optimal nutrient supply to plants
  • Higher fertiliser efficiency in demanding terrain conditions

Optimised distribution can increase fertiliser efficiency on sloping terrain by up to an additional 3%, with a focus on yield.

Intelligent control technology for modern fertilisation strategies

HillControl is an important component of precise fertiliser application in modern smart farming agriculture. Automatic adaptation to terrain contours improves application quality in the long term, ensures efficient use of resources and increases yield stability.

The technology helps farmers achieve consistently high spreading quality even on heterogeneous terrain, regardless of topography and changes in slope.

Developed for RAUCH AXIS twin-disc spreaders

HillControl is specially designed for AXIS twin-disc spreaders and is optimally matched to their control technology, actuators and control system. The function is fully integrated into the machine control system and can be used immediately in practice.

Use HillControl now and optimise spreading quality on uneven terrain

Do you work on slopes or on areas with highly variable topography?

Frequently asked questions HillControl

What is HillControl?

HillControl is an automatic control system for AXIS fertiliser spreaders that ensures precise fertiliser distribution on slopes, hilltops and in hollows. A tilt sensor detects the machine's position and automatically adjusts the application point and dosage to ensure even lateral distribution even on varying topography.

What problems does HillControl solve when spreading fertiliser?

When spreading on slopes or on changing terrain, uneven lateral distribution often occurs. HillControl automatically compensates for the slope and significantly reduces over- and under-fertilisation.

How does the automatic adjustment work?

An integrated tilt sensor continuously detects the position of the spreading discs. The algorithms use this information to calculate the optimum machine setting and adjust the application point in real time.

Which machines is HillControl suitable for?

HillControl was developed specifically for RAUCH AXIS twin-disc spreaders and is fully integrated into their control system.

What advantages does HillControl offer on slopes?

HillControl ensures even lateral distribution, more precise nutrient distribution, higher fertiliser efficiency and better crop development, even in challenging terrain conditions.
