Technological innovation at the very highest level: RAUCH AXIS 55 – greater profit per hectare through precision, power and intelligent automation
Fertiliser costs remain a key economic factor, weather windows are becoming narrower, and every spreading error costs yield. With the AXIS 55, RAUCH Landmaschinenfabrik GmbH presents the next generation of its successful twin-disc fertiliser spreaders, designed specifically to address these challenges. The new series combines maximum efficiency, intelligent automation and the highest level of operator comfort in a single machine. With a mass flow rate of up to 675 kg/min, working widths of 12 to 56 m, a hopper capacity of up to 6,500 l and a payload of up to 5,000 kg, the AXIS 55 sets new standards for economical and sustainable fertiliser application. With this, RAUCH aims to offer farmers and contractors not only greater efficiency, but above all greater reliability of results, greater precision and greater cost-effectiveness per hectare.
Higher mass flow for maximum area coverage within tight time windows
The AXIS 55 is designed for farms that need to apply fertiliser precisely over large areas within short operating windows. The advanced opening and discharge system, capable of up to 675 kg/min, combined with the super-fast SpeedServo actuators, enables precise application rates at high driving speeds. Users benefit from consistent performance without any loss of speed, particularly when using organic and less dense fertilisers. The advanced EMC sensors keep application rates consistently stable right from the first few metres in the field.
The deep-drawn hopper floor ensures optimal flow of the fertiliser and enables almost complete spreading right down to the last grain.
The new generation also impresses in terms of working width. With just three disc variants, the AXIS 55 will in future cover working widths from 12 to 56 m. The new AX4 spreading disc enables working widths of up to 56 m and significantly expands the range of applications, particularly for large farms and contractors.
OptiSpread, the connected automation
With OptiSpread, the AXIS 55 becomes a networked precision system with fully automatic adjustment of metering and lateral distribution without the need for time-consuming manual intervention. A sophisticated sensor system continuously monitors application rate, fertiliser properties, spread pattern, slope gradient and boundary lines. HillControl stabilises lateral distribution on slopes, hilltops and in valleys. With OptiSpread, yield increases of up to 3% are possible even on difficult terrain. XactMap, FieldEngine and agrirouter also provide an open digital architecture for application maps, documentation and mixed fleet integration, offering added value for farms that do not wish to be tied to proprietary systems.
“Anyone who wants to fertilise profitably today doesn’t simply need more technology, but greater certainty that every grain lands in the right place. That is exactly why the AXIS 55 was developed,” says Managing Director Wilfried Müller.
Innovative edge and boundary spreading technology and maximum precision
With the VarioSmart, which has been awarded a DLG Silver Medal, the AXIS 55 offers a pioneering solution for boundary spreading with mechanical fertiliser spreaders. Users benefit from a boundary spreading quality that was previously reserved for hydraulic machines, without the need for an additional TELIMAT. In addition, the further-developed GSE X technology ensures even more precise fertiliser application at field boundaries and, for the first time, also enables exact bed spreading, so that not a single grain of fertiliser ends up in the tramline.
Infinitely adjustable section widths, automatic application map processing and OptiPoint pro+, which precisely calculates and simultaneously documents the start and stop points at the headland, also ensure maximum precision in the field. With the extremely fast SpeedServo actuators, the system reacts immediately to changing conditions, continuously adjusts the working width and spread pattern, and keeps the application precisely within the crop.
Convenience and ease of maintenance consistently refined
During the development of the AXIS 55, the focus was also on ease of operation and serviceability. The new hose rack allows the top link to be attached and detached at any time, regardless of whether the hydraulic hoses are already connected. An integrated spirit level also facilitates the optimal alignment of the fertiliser spreader.
The sturdy access ladder provides safe access to the hopper and also allows big bags to be opened safely. Thanks to flexible mounting on the left, right or both sides, it can be optimally adapted to individual requirements.
The new parking rollers also significantly improve ease of use. The machine can be moved easily, whilst integrated brakes prevent it from rolling away unintentionally. The inclined parking position also makes it easier to hitch the machine to the tractor.
The new drive concept has a modular design and provides easy access to the gearbox and hydraulic units. Large maintenance access panels are optimally positioned to make thorough cleaning very straightforward.
Digitalisation and intelligent assistance systems
With its new electronics platform, the AXIS 55 is already ideally prepared for the demands of tomorrow’s modern agriculture. A powerful on-board computer enables real-time adaptation for integrated AI applications whilst offering high performance reserves for extensive precision farming functions.
Among the technological highlights is the new AXMAT-X generation with integrated dirt detection. The system continuously monitors lateral distribution and automatically informs the driver when cleaning is required. This ensures that spreading quality remains at the highest level at all times.
The new AI camera provides additional safety. In conjunction with the CCI terminal, it detects people in the danger zone and warns the driver in good time.
Modern design for the agriculture of tomorrow
Visually, too, the AXIS 55 presents itself as a logical evolution. The modern machine design combines functionality with a high-quality appearance. New LED lighting systems for the hopper and spreading mechanism ensure optimum visibility in the dark whilst also enhancing workplace safety. The optional electrically operated cover can be conveniently controlled from the cab and features an integrated drying position, which allows the interior of the hopper to be completely dried.
With a hopper capacity of up to 6,500 litres, a payload of up to 5,000 kilograms and numerous intelligent assistance systems, the AXIS 55 combines top performance with maximum precision. RAUCH thus once again underlines its commitment to developing innovative fertiliser technology to meet the demands of modern agriculture and to actively shaping the future of precision fertilisation.
